Indonesia’s next generation of automation talent deserves a place to put its ideas to the test. Data Sorcerers is preparing the inaugural Sorcery AI Racing League (SARL): a virtual autonomous racing competition where participants build the intelligence that drives the car.
The mission is to discover and develop talented young Indonesians in automation, artificial intelligence and control engineering. Participants will translate code into decisions: reading a corner, choosing a speed, steering accurately and recovering when conditions change.
Two tracks. A shared challenge.
Spellcraft, the Logic Drivers Track, is for participants who engineer decisions through algorithms, rules and classical control. Neuralcraft, the Neural Drivers Track, is for participants whose trained neural models meaningfully influence driving decisions.
The organizer plans to provide equivalent virtual vehicles, a shared simulation environment and evaluation scenarios. Participants bring their own driver systems and test them against the same sporting requirements within each division.

SARL aims to earn its place as a prestigious competition through technical depth, transparent evaluation and fair competition. The ambition is to make a strong performance on the virtual circuit a meaningful demonstration of engineering ability.
Beyond a finishing time, the challenge asks builders to explain their approach, improve it through experiments and demonstrate reliable autonomous behavior. It is a chance to create work they can discuss, show and continue developing after the race.
The road to Central Java.
Registration is planned for early November 2026, with qualification across four online race weeks. Up to 50 entries race each week; the top five advance to form the final 20. Exact registration and qualification dates are to be announced. The championship is planned for 18–20 December 2026 in Central Java, Indonesia; the exact venue will be announced.
Registration is currently a preview. SARL 2026 is open to teams of two to four active D4/applied bachelor’s, S1/bachelor’s and S2/master’s students, or local equivalents, from accredited higher-education institutions across Southeast Asia. Team members may come from different eligible campuses and study programs.
